Surnames

Some of the names in Carl's family are:

Allen, Clay,  Dempsey, Farley, Hunter, Lee, McNeely, Pinson, Runyon, Thompson, Varney, Vaught and many others.

The Varneys and Farleys lived in in the southwestern part of West Virginia and many of the men from these families fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War.

Some of the names in Lola's family are:

Bevington, Boyd, Castor, Donahue, Durst, Riffle, Rollins, Roush, Shields, Smith, Wolgamott, and many others. 

These families settled mainly in West Virginia, and Ohio and most of the men from these families fought for the Union during the Civil War.
